Mondial du Chasselas

For its 10th edition on June 4-5, the Mondial du Chasselas has returned to growth. In the historic setting of Château d’Aigle, 62 jurors, mostly Swiss, but also 26 foreigners, tasted 762 wines, 58 more than in 2020. Due to the origine of the Chasselas grape variety, the vast majority of wines came from of the host country. There were also 107 samples from Germany, France, Canada and the United States. Finally, the jury awarded 91 gold and 80 silver medals (rewarding a total of 29.3% of the competitors) to the winners divided into 5 categories: dry wines, wines with more than 4g / l of residual sugar, special vinification, old vintages (2014 and before) and “Swing” (maximum 11.5 °). The awards ceremony will take place on August 26 at the Château d’Aigle.
